The SkyHeia is as comfortable as the bed at home, making it fundamentally different from existing outdoor sleeping options. It can be set up in minutes, stowed in two bags, easily transported and protects against insects and rain.
Such features make the SkyHeia an attractive proposition for hotels, vacation rentals and campgrounds whose guests want to combine exceptional overnight accommodations with an intense nature experience.
Sleep healthy
"Nature makes us happy and healthy, that has long been a scientific certainty - so why don't we enjoy it at night as well?" says biologist Dr. Wolfgang Meschede. His passion for nocturnal nature, shared with his business partner Marco Barooah-Siebertz, gave rise to the idea of developing a bed in which you can enjoy the night in complete comfort: the clear starry sky, the fresh air and the sound of the night.
What makes the SkyHeia special: it is a real bed made of high quality and sustainable materials, but specially designed for use in the open air. Thus, any standard mattress can fit on the 90 x 200 cm lying surface. Unlike the "normal" bed, however, you can leave the SkyHeia outside without hesitation, because it is made of weatherproof materials such as anodized aluminum and stainless steel. What's more: You can connect as many SkyHeias together as you like and turn the single bed into a two- or three-person SkyHeia. If you connect even more beds together, it's an ideal setup for a hearty Heia party.
Easy to handle
The highlight: this completely new outdoor bed can be stowed in two compact bags and with a little practice set up in two minutes. This is made possible by a novel plug-in clamping mechanism.
Overnight guests are well protected in the SkyHeia. An insect screen available as an accessory protects those inside safely against mosquitoes, spiders & Co. The mosquito net encloses the entire sleeping area, including the mattress, so that no annoying little animal can disturb the nightly nature experience. In addition, the color and net structure are chosen so that you can enjoy the starry sky despite the protective cover.
Another accessory that will soon be available is a rain cover for the SkyHeia. This consists of transparent material, so that the guest has a clear view of the sky again after the rain.
The SkyHeia takes special care of nature and people: the aluminum used was produced with the help of Norwegian hydropower, so that CO2 emissions can be reduced to only 25% of the global average. The SkyHeia is handmade in Germany as part of an inclusion project, and with every bed sold, 50 euros goes to initiatives that support the homeless.
